Our Story

Art in Tanzania is a Tanzanian NGO. We started operations 1996 to support development of Tanzanian artists where the name comes from.

Today we are a large community support NGO operating wide range of topics, having 10 to 40 volunteers and interns supporting our work throughout a year.

We are also well known entity having 37k plus likes and followers and 200 to 400k monthly reach at our Facebook.

Mission Statement

Art in Tanzania mission is to develop self-sustainable community work. We empower the community members to develop themselves to be able to run income generating activities. We assist the community institutions as schools to perform at higher standards.

Our operations are based on assistance of volunteers and interns who bring their skillsets to the daily tasks implementation. 


Our Key team 2021 is small as the COVID-19 forced us to shut many operations. We are encourages that summer 2021 looks that we are back as new normality.

We are grateful for so many remote volunteers and interns who have been helping us to get through the difficult time when the field work was prohibited.
