Human Rights Advocacy in Africa
The Human Rights program includes working with Tanzanian human rights professionals focusing on children’s, women’s, and disabled people’s rights but also focusing on sexual rights. Research focus can be included.
Art in Tanzania maintains compliance with The Children’s Agenda Tanzania program that includes Children’s and Women’s Rights focus. We also have an Art in Tanzania Rights team. The team members include private Tanzanian lawyers and other rights-oriented citizens as well as participating interns and volunteers.
The program’s practical tasks include advocating, partaking in seminars, teaching, and raising awareness and visibility. Because rights issues are always sensitive matters, working as a team and networking is important. The Children’s Agenda program was developed by a team of NGOs including UNICEF and Save the Children, among others, and it is chaired by the Ministry of Community Work, Gender and Children.
