Background
Ruaha National Park is one of the unknown secrets in Tanzania. It is far away from the major towns and still practically untouched. At Ruaha you can encounter total wilderness and breath taking scenery's.

With this program you have 5 days safari program to Ruaha (3 days in the park), you visit the Coral islands at Dar es Salaam as well as town markets and you can take 4 days at Zanzibar Islands as an option you can add into your safari program.

The package includes the program all-inclusive (accommodations, food etc.) except personal drinks. It does not include the flight ticket and VISA (usd 50 at the airport).

All Tanzania safari income is used for the community work projects in Tanzania

Program
Day 1 | Home - Dar es Salaam | l, d

Arrival flight to Dar es Salaam. Accommodation at Bahari Beach - Kunduchi area hotels some 16 km north from Dar es Salaam city center at the Indian Ocean Beach.

Day 2 | Dar es Salaam - Morogoro - Iringa (520km) | b, l, d
You start the Ruaha safari drive 9am by visiting a super market to buy some snacks for the drive. You pass by Morogoro town, then Mikumi National park, where you will already see some animals at the road sides, then over the mountain area and you arrive at Iringa town around 7pm depending on the stops on the way. Lunch break is at Mikumi town, local Tanzanian food. Accommodation and dinner is at the Isimilia safari hotel at Iringa.

Day 3 | Iringa - Ruaha | b, l,
After breakfast you drive the last 120km to the Ruaha National park. On the way you encounter the Hehe tribe villages and you will also start to see some animals such as elephants and giraffes. You enter into the park and have a small game drive before lunch at the Ruaha River Lodge. After lunch you still have plenty of time for an afternoon game drive. Your accommodation is at the Ruaha River Lodge luxury camp, hippos, elephants and other animals wandering around.

You have all day game drive with a lunch bag. Accommodation at the Ruaha River Lodge.

Day 5 | Ruaha - Iringa | b, l, d
The third day in the park, viewing animals. Afternoon you drive back to Iringa and accommodation is at the Isimilia hotel.

Day 6 | Iringa - Mikumi - Dar es Salaam | b, l, d
Drive back to Dar es Salaam (520km). Accommodation and dinner is at Bahari Beach - Kunduchi area hotels.

Day 7 | Dar es Salaam / Coral Islands | b, l, d
All day at Dar es Salaam Marine Park coral islands. You can swim, do snorkeling, sun bath and enjoy the colorful reef life. Accommodation is at Bahari Beach - Kunduchi Beach area hotels.

Day 8 | Dar es Salaam - Home Flight | b, l, d
Those who do not attend the Zanzibar program will have a day at the Dar es Salaam markets depending on the departing flight schedule.

Who have selected to include the Zanzibar Islands in the program will take a morning ferry to Zanzibar. You wander around the historic stone town, visit the slave market, Freddy Mercury Museum, markets and Africa House. Accommodation is at Safari Lodge (accommodation may vary depending on the bookings at the hotels at the time). Lunch and dinner not included to give you the freedom to select from the variety of cuisines around.

Zanzibar Day 2 | b, -, -

Morning to noon you visit the spice farms to have a look how many common spices are grown. Afternoon you take a bus to the North tip of the Zanzibar Island to enjo

y beach life. You stay at the Sunset Bungalows beach resort. Lunch and dinner not included to give you the freedom to select from the variety of cuisines around.

Zanzibar Day 3 | b, -, full board accommodation at the Sunset Bungalows Beach Resort. Free/own program such as boating, snorkeling, scuba diving etc. (cost not included). Lunch and dinner not included to give you a freedom to select from the variety of cuisines around.

Zanzibar - Dar es Salaam - Departure Day 4 | b, -, -

Morning time there is still time to enjoy at the beaches. During the afternoon you take a ferry back to Dar es Salaam. Afternoon program is planned upon your flight schedule. If we have time we take you to the Dar es Salaam markets. Departure flight. Lunch and dinner not included to give you a freedom to select from the variety of cuisines around.

Start dates:

• Every first and third Monday of the calendar month. If you are 2 people we can make a start date at any time.
• 21 - 28 December (Xmas Safari) is a special start date.

Cost:

• Ruaha safari and one day at the coral islands Euro 1,300.
• 5 to 15 years old Ruaha package Euro 990 sharing the roof with the parents. Less than 5 years old Euro 300.
• During Xmas there is Euro 200 extra cost due to higher prices during the high season.
• Zanzibar 4 days package Euro 450. Zanzibar extra day Euro 100.
• We can also tailor your Zanzibar package.
• During the December the Zanzibar package is Euro 100 more expensive due to the high season prices.
• International flight tickets and VISA (USD 50) not included. Personal drinks etc. not included.
