Art in Tanzania operates a number of environment and ecological education projects in Tanzania, teaching the local population about sustainable fuels and renewable sources of energy. Deforestation for firewood is a major problem in the country, so volunteers will be teaching people how to turn old refuse into ‘firebricks’ rather than using charcoal for fuel. We also run sanitation programs, and undertake environmental surveys for construction amongst many other eco-conscious projects.
